There's also the fabled Soldier/Consular (aka "The Powergamer's Choice"), but I wouldn't dabble with that until you're going for Hard difficulty playthrough.

This campaign book is good in that it provides a lot of necessary information to get a feel for the era, from the inchoate Jedi establishment to a sometimes weak Republic to the deadly Sith. Sentinel's immunities frees up an item slot + once you've found gear that protects you from Critical Hits, you won't have to worry about debilitating effects anymore. Knights of the Old Republic is my favorite era in the Star Wars universe, because of its versatility and relative lack of established canon. Use your Soldier levels to pick up the important Feats (for me it's always Two-Weapon Fighting & Toughness & Flurry), you'll have plenty enough to grab the Implant Feats too. She's pretty much the only party member I'd recommend sticking with Blaster Pistol/Rifle, and that's mostly due to Scoundrel's Sneak Attack abilities.Īnother option is to go Soldier/Sentinel, making MUCH smoother early game than min-maxed Scout/Guardian. You'll pick up a Scoundrel companion quite early in the game, she can cover Computer Skills, Demolitions, Awareness and whatnot. Unlike KOTOR 2, you really don't need your main char investing into Skills that much, it's perfectly fine to leave INT at 8 and only focus on Persuade skill (unless you REALLY want to fully fix HK-47, but I never found myself using him in my party anyway). While Scoundrel is the only class I wouldn't recommend to new players, I'd say Soldier is beginner-friendliest class.
